In 1998 Chocolatier Hilda Charles and Chef Sheryl Layton were inspired to create the first “Heavenly Handmade Dark Chocolate Cherry Truffle” in honor of the Cherry Capital of the world — Traverse City Michigan.

Each famous Charles Layton dark chocolate cherry truffle is skillfully hand crafted using the finest local concentrated tart cherry nectars. People loved it! Since our inception we have sold thousands of these delectable truffles.

Charles Layton Chocolates distributes premium handmade chocolate truffles in northern Michigan and throughout the world — everywhere people appreciate extraordinary truffles.

Today, the Charles Layton Chocolates extensive truffle menu includes truly amazing original flavors. For example we now hand-craft private label truffles offered by a number of Michigan wineries. Each truffle contains wine selected by the vintner.

We also create handmade chocolate truffles for Microbrewerys, flavored with some of the regions finest handcrafted beers.
